Reasons Why You Should Make Onions Part of your Diet

It has always been a popular and common ingredient in different world cuisines and salads.  But aside from adding flavor and enhancing the taste of foods, there are also other reasons why you should make onions a part of your diet.

Onions have therapeutic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and other benefits that contribute to our overall health.

Tired of having acne?  Want to have healthy, glowing skin instead?  Facials, ointments and creams aren’t always the solution.  Although not as popular and good-smelling as these remedies, eating onions promote good skin.

It stimulates the circulation in the mucous membrane and can even cure warts, boils, wounds and bruises.  That’s how potent onions are.  Mixed with olive oil or honey, they are a great treatment for acne.

Everybody’s afraid of getting the Big C – or cancer.  We avoid lots of carcinogenic foods but one thing we should not avoid is onions.  By eating it regularly – even as little as two times a week – can considerably reduce the risk of having colon, breast and ovarian cancer.

What do onions have that make it fight off cancer?

Onions may be notorious in making your breath “smell,” but eating onions promote good oral health.  Just by chewing onions for two to three minutes can cure oral infections, kill germs in the mouth and prevent tooth decay.  Your breath may smell, but at least you know it’s not because of cavities or tooth decay!
