Potato, Onion and Carrot Soup Recipe

This is a creamy and appetizing onion soup with potatoes and carrots

A rich and creamy soup that is really simple to make.


2 cups onions, finely chopped
1 cup carrots, sliced
5 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup celery, chopped
5 cups water
4 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
¼ cup butter
2 teaspoons salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 can evaporated milk
3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
3 to 4 tablespoons chopped fresh or frozen chives

Recipe Instructions

Cook the vegetables.
Add the first nine ingredients into a slow cooker and cook covered on high for 7 hours until the vegetables are tender.

Thicken the sauce.
Add the milk, parsley and chives and mix together well. Cook for another 30 – 45 minutes covered until it is heated through.

Makes 3 quarts of soup
