Cheese and Onion on Toast Recipe

A very easy to make toast with onions and cheese

A quick and easy snack or lunch recipe.


1 medium red onion, peeled and finely chopped
4 ozs grated cheddar cheese
¼ cup whole milk
2 ozs unsalted butter
1 tablespoon corn flour
salt and freshly ground pepper
4 rounds of toasted bread

Recipe Instructions

Cook the ingredients.
Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the ground pepper.  Add the corn flour and beat until it turns to the consistency a roué.  Gradually add the milk and cook until the sauce has thickened.  Add the grated cheese and chopped onions and cook over a low heat for 2 – 3 minutes.

To serve.
Spread the cheese and onion mixture over the toasted bread and place it under the grill for a couple of minutes until it turns golden brown.  Serve while still warm.
