Broccoli, Onion and Bacon Salad Recipe

A very healthy salad great for all ages

A delicious and healthy salad that can be served with any type of meal.


5 cups broccoli florets
1 cup red onion, chopped
8 slices bacon
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2/3 cup olive oil
½ cup sunflower seeds, toasted and salted

Recipe Instructions

Cook the ingredients:
Cook the broccoli in boiling salted water for 4 minutes until crisp but tender. Cook the bacon over a medium heat in a skillet until brown and crisp. Place the bacon on paper towels to drain off the oil then crumble the bacon.

Make the dressing.
Whisk the oil and vinegar in a mixing bowl and blend together. Mix in the onions and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Make the salad.
Mix together the broccoli and bacon in a large bowl and toss over the dressing. Garnish with the sunflower seeds.
